Partners

Universities and research institutions which  have internationally recognized high level scientific background in polymer science, considerable knowledge in the relevant fields and also significant experience in EU projects have been invited as partners. Noteworthy the network includes experts in the main fields of polymer science – from modern polymer synthesis and investigation to the development of advanced materials and technologies for specific applications. Representatives of the partnering organizations will be invited to contribute with lectures and seminars on emerging topics in polymer and materials science. The leading scientists will be included in the project Advisory Board. The exchange of knowledge and experience with partnering organizations through secondmets from and to IP-BAS will contribute to the strengthening the research and innovation potential of the institute.

  • Prof. Filip Du Prez – Head of the Polymer Chemistry Research Group at Ghent University (Belgium). His research is focused on design of functional polymer architectures and polymer materials, controlled radical polymerizations, ‘click’ chemistry, self-healing polymers, stimuli-responsive polymers, shape memory polymers, etc.http://www.pcr.ugent.be
  • Prof. Stephen Brocchini – Head of the partnering team from The School of Pharmacy, University College London. He has advanced competence in the development of medicines derived from proteins, expertise in pharmaceutical formulation, the development of tissue specific drug delivery devices, especially for the eye and use of polymers to develop new medicines and therapies. Prof. Brocchini is a co-founder of the School of Pharmacy spinout company PolyTherics and of the Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Emergent Macromolecular Therapies funded by EPSRC.http://www.ucl.ac.uk/pharmacy
  • Prof. Juan Francisco Rodríguez Romero – Head of the Institute for Chemical and Environmental Technology, Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). He possesses strong expertise in the design of chemical processes management of plastic wastes, supercritical fluids technologies and improvement of polymerization processes of industrial interest.http://www.uclm.es/profesorado/jfrodriguez/indexingles.asp
  • Prof. Philippe Dubois – Head of Laboratory of Polymeric and Composite Materials, Center of Innovation and Research in Materials and Polymers at University of Mons (Belgium). His research interest covers: Synthesis of new polymers with well tailored and controlled molecular structure; Polymerization of olefins by supported coordination catalysis; Production of polymeric alloys, filled polymers, polymeric composites and layered silicate-based nanocomposites by (reactive) melt processing and reactive bulk impregnation; and Design of environmentally friendly polymeric/(nano)composite materials.http://morris.umh.ac.be/smpc/default.aspx
  • Prof. DSc Andrzej Dworak – Director of the Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His scientific interest is focused on development of modern, well-defined functional materials amongst them materials based on stimuli-sensitive and biodegradable polymers as well as techniques for controlled polymer synthesis, tailoring of stimuli (temperature and pH) sensitive polymers, self-organization to nanostructures.http://cmpw-pan.edu.pl
  • Dr. Stergios Pispas – Senior Researcher at the Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute, National Hellenic Research Foundation (TPCI/NHRF), Athens (Greece). He has internationally recognized expertise on the designed polymer synthesis by a variety of synthetic methodologies (anionic, conventional and controlled free radical polymerizations, post-polymerization functionalization of synthetic macromolecules) and the molecular characterization of polymers, utilizing a range of physicochemical techniques.http://www.eie.gr/nhrf/institutes/tpci/cvs/cv-pispas-gr.html
  • Cvetanka TodorovaPresident of the Bulgarian Association Polymers (BAP). BAP is a non-profit organization of 37 Bulgarian companies processing and marketing polymers and plastics. BAP is active affiliate of the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization and a member of European Plastics Converters Association (EUPC). The Memorandum, signed recently between BAP and IP-BAS mapped the joint activities and the commitment of BAP to mediate for establishment of firm contacts between the Institute and representatives of the polymer processing industry.http://www.bap-bg.org/en-home
